meet your kind and approachable bankruptcy team
Patrick Patino, attorney
I am a bankruptcy Swiss army knife, assisting debtors with consumer and business bankruptcy solutions. I became a bankruptcy attorney to help people. I bring a sensible, mindful, and calm approach to the practice of law.
If you find yourself or your business facing financial challenges, I can help you formulate and action clear solutions to address those challenges.
I graduated with honors from the University of Illinois College of Law where I was awarded the prestigious CALI Award for Excellence in Bankruptcy and Small Firm Practice. I have served on the Nebraska State Bar Association Bankruptcy Committee and currently serve as a member of American Bankruptcy Institute’s Midwestern Bankruptcy Institute Advisory Board. I was named to the 2021-2023 Great Plains Rising Stars Lists and as the 2021 Readers’ Choice Best of the Big O: Best Law Firm – Bankruptcy.

I am not your “traditional attorney”
I wear hoodies and backwards hats. I shy away from legalese. I laugh a lot. I leverage technology to have more time to do human things. I started Patino Law Office because I care about my clients on a personal level and believed in designing my law firm to align with the life I want to live and the impact I want to have. I assembled my team to make this vision a reality.
Kylie Clayton, paralegal
I have been a go-getter my entire life. A college graduate by the age of 20, I thrive on creating action plans and following through.
I bring zeal to client care as I focus on getting the answers you need and taking the next step to move your case forward. My supportiveness, combined with attention to detail, makes me a perfect partner when you're feeling overwhelmed. With me, you can be confident your information will be handled expertly.
Clients are in a very vulnerable spot when they come to us. It takes a lot of courage to call when you are struggling yet know you need help. Beyond skills or knowledge, you need to love people to thrive in my role. I love people and I am excited to work with you.

Ty Ebert, law clerk
Before considering a career in law, I was an entrepreneur. As an undergrad, I co-founded several startups and later acquired several industrial painting businesses. We built a multi-million dollar operation, but unfortunately, lost the business during the COVID-19 pandemic. My bankruptcy attorney helped me protect my personal assets, maintain my dignity, and stage a comeback, allowing me to exit my next business within a year of its relaunch.
This experience with bankruptcy was so transformative that I decided to retool my skills to help other entrepreneurs achieve fresh starts. While studying at Mitchell Hamline School of Law, I met Patrick, who had founded the exact type of law firm I wanted to join.
When working with clients, I acknowledge that while I might not understand every aspect of their feelings, I have walked a similar path and emerged stronger. Drawing from my 10+ years as a business owner, I help streamline the law firm’s operations, enabling our team to focus on the personal service essential for creating great comeback stories.
